South Africa get 2-0 win over New Zealand
The Bafana Bafana got their first win in the Confederations Cup thanks to two goals from Bernard Parker on either side of the half. A solid performance from the opening whistle was enhanced with Steven Pienaar orchestrating proceedings from the midfield and left-back Tsepo Masilela who caused havoc on the New Zealand right flank. After a dominating performance, Joel Santana and his squad would have prepared an additional one or two more goals to assist them if qualification for the semi-finals comes down to goal difference but for now the players and fans will settle for the victory. Next up is a match against European Champions Spain on Saturday.
