Freddy Adu staying with Monaco

US midfielder and former youth standout Freddy Adu has suffered a bumpy stay in Europe, but after an excellent performance in a friendly vs Juventus, AS Monaco manager Ricardo Gomes has stated Adu will be staying on till the end of the season. The diminutive playmaker has seen little action for the Monagesque side this season in Ligue 1 since he moved on loan from Benfica. Despite his rough stay in Europe, it is easy to forget Adu is just 19 as the Tema, Ghana born player has been on the footy scene since he was 12. With the right coach and in the right system, one hopes Freddy will find his footing in Europe, if not a move back to MLS might be just the tonic to boost Adu's confidence.
